The final Countdown

Done by Swedish band Europe with lead singer Joey Tempest, who also plays rhythm guitar and keyboards, John Norum, on lead guitar and backing vocals, John Levén on bass guitar, Mic Michaeli on keyboards, and Ian Haughland on drums and percussion.

Released February 14, 1986 as a single from the album The Final Countdown, the intro really stands out with the synthesizer, and amazing guitar playing.

It is extremely well produced by Kevin Elson, who also produced the album The Final Countdown.

The song hits hard, with feeling the importance of the moment the person leaves as if there's no more time left, and a decision must be made now as to what direction you're taking.
The song also speaks of how the person will be missed if they decide to leave.

I really have no comparison, but it did come from the era where this particular sound was incredibly popular, so it's very typical of the 80's sound.

This song is very dramatic and could be described as "epic" with the big synthesizer and huge vocals of Joey Tempest.

I think this song could get anyone pumped, but it's especially nostalgic for us 80s babies and Gen X.

All in all I have nothing but love for this song and group and I highly recommend to anyone, young, old, or in the middle.
